I am trying to decide between a eVGA 7900 GS 256mb and a SAPPHIRE 100189L Radeon X1900GT 256MB. The Saphire is cheaper then any of the other x1900gts I saw. Which chips would you guys choose since they are both $200?

I would choose the X1900GT as it's about on-par with the X1800XT and 7900GT in terms of gaming performance. That's a nice price too.

What if I plan to overclock. The 7900 GS I was thinking of ordering is 480mhz out of the box. From what I have been reading the GS's will overclock like crazy but the ATI's do not.

Er, I don't know where you heard that because X1800/X1900/X1950 cards do indeed overclock like crazy.

Which brand x1950pro would you guys recommend? They are selling the Sapphire for $200 but they also have the asus for only $170. I havent seen many reviews for the x1950Pro.

Do you know if this card is a limited edition or anything like that? Trying to figure if they will have it in stock again soon.

I'd guess its out of stock because $170 is a great price for that card ... the closest thing I see to it is the HIS model which is also factory overclocked & has an IceQ3 type cooler that vents heat out the rear of the case, however at $259 its no bargain... for that price you should be able to find a 256mb X1900XT which will handily out perform it.

Frankly I'd say go ahead & get the Sapphire if you are in a hurry & overclock it yourself.

I don't know if it's true or not, but someone said the Asus is missing the internal crossfire connectors?

According to the above linked review the internal bridge connecter is only included with one of the two sku's for these cards, so if you plan on Crossfire you'll need to make sure you get the right one ... perhaps another reason to get the Sapphire instead.

I recieved my eVGA 7900GS KO in the mail today, it was $165 with rebate. The only reason I am thinking of keeping the card is because of the 90 day step up program from eVGA. The new DX10's are coming out in the next 3 months right?

My HIS 1900GT went up to the max on the sliders using the CCC auto-overclocking tool... so I guess it OCs pretty well. It has a nice, external exhaust fan, though, and now it's folding full time. :)
