At Amazon

Especially when they have the game and exp for $35

I couldn't find anything special about it. Typo?

It's an out of print version of the game boxed and sealed, and the merchant who happens to be the featured merchant is selling it for a high price because of that.
There is nothing special about it, it's just rare in that form.

If you end up buying that I suggest you play with an Xbox 360 Wireless controller.

Amazon has the PC adapter for only $199! Which might seem like a lot for a $25 adapter. But yesterday the only one that was coming up is $360 bucks. They still have that one for sale, but apparently another seller saw it and undercut them by $160 bucks.

It still shows the crazy price. Look closer.
"1 new from $199.00 1 used from $360.00"

Um no it isn't. The box I got from Best Buy a few weeks ago looks exactly like the one in the picture. They had lots of them in stock and were being sold for $20 because nobody wants this shitty game.

Crysis is far from shitty although it may make your computer look shitty :D

It just seems like the gameplay is the one thing nobody ever talked about. The game is nothing more than a Halo rip off. Carry 2 guns? Check. Regenerating armor? Check. Completely broken AI? Check. Fighting aliens? Check. Then I finally noticed that it was published by EA. EA releasing a game that steals other peoples ideas and is buggy as hell? This is completely unexpected!

Learn how to drive, Crysis style.
Best AI in any game ever, for realz
How to kill yourself, Crysis style
Talking to the dead

I remember this with Far Cry as well. Some people said it was awesome. I tried it. It was the worst PC game I had played up until that point. Even Big Rigs was better than that game.

You're an idiot. Do some research. All of the AI glitches were patched, and most were do to PHYSICS being set to low and not running the full subroutines of the AI. Crytek is ahead of the curve. CryEngine is by far the most capable gaming engine ever created. Go ahead and google it, prove me wrong. You can't. Pull out all the facts. Put them on the table.

Yea, it sucks that Crysis takes an expensive rig to fully exploit the software, but that's the name of the game. Crytek is doing bleeding edge work and when they have the scale back to allow the game to run on lesser quality systems, that's when the problems started (and were patched).

Giving the user the ability to make the AI retarded puts you ahead of the curve? You can do that in Quake 1 if you type "notarget" in console. Patching it later on doesn't change the fact that they released a broken game. That's very typical of EA. Do some research.

Just looking at Crytek's own website, it looks like they built the thing to look good instead of play good. To their credit, it does look absolutely amazing and wikipedia does say that a french company licensed the engine to do work similar to 3D autocad. That being said, it doesn't make the gameplay any better. The cars don't drive any better than they do in any other game, the running is the same, jumping is the same, shooting is the same. At its core, it's just Halo with better graphics. It has Koreans too, if that matters.

Even though you didn't ask for it, I'll apologize for calling you an idiot.

I've long argued that "Even if you don't like the game, It's the engine behind it that is what's cool".

Having said that, look past the "game" as it is sold, and look to the user mod community.

check out crymod.com for example.

Since the engine is wide open, and Crytek provided the Sandbox editor (along with an SDK) the real excitement is in what is being developed outside of the game. Whether it just be mods for the game (graphics, naturalism aka one shot kills, AI changes), or entirely stand alone projects (mechwarrior), it's just downright amazing what this engine is allowing people to do.

Another thing you might like is the BlueMars Project

It's taking the realism found in Crysis, and applying it to a SimCity/WOW/GameEditor hybrid. It's pretty neat, and basically, imagine playing "crysis" and being able to just leave the island, go to another island, and play golf. Then go shopping.

EDIT:

someone is making the back to the future hoverboard for Crysis

I think this is the same company that was trying to sell Monkey Island 3 for $70. Yeah, right.

I'm not looking for the game thus why I was looking for Crysis instead of the combo pack with the expansions. The Living Legends, MechWarrior mod, should be out at some point this summer, so I figured I need to get myself a copy of the game. I'll try B&M next time I'm out.

Most mods are being ported to run on teh Crysis Wars Mod System.

Crytek wants all mods being developed for Crysis Wars.

The reason is because while they may continue making Crysis 2,3,4,5, etc. the Crysis Wars platform won't change, maybe get patched, but not change, plus it has a mod loader built in. Crysis 2 won't have MP, it will just stay with Crysis Wars. I would expect Crysis 2 to include a copy of Wars, just like Warhead did.

While many mods are still available for the original Crysis, almost all new work is being done for Wars.

I played Crysis the whole way through and never ran into those issues. Congratulations to whatever dipshit went out of his way to take videos of some isolated bugs that ended up getting patched anyway.

Oh, and quality narration on one of those videos. Guy sounds like a ritard.

I actually enjoyed Crysis more the 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th time I played it. I went out of my way to finish the game as differently as possible from the previous attempt. Instead of cloaking, waiting for the enemy, de-cloaking, and then shooting, I would try something like trying to sneak up behind them while cloaked, de-cloak, grab the enemy, quickly switch over to superstrength and punch them. To see them flying through the air after I punched them with superstrength enabled was hilarious. I always tried to do things differently. On occasion I would delay the game and go "shark hunting." Oh and not to mention grabbing one of the many boat-engines through out the game and carrying it while stealth towards some KPA. Their reaction to seeing a boat-engine floating towards them in mid-air is classic. One thing I did think that was odd was how the KPA's special forces were equal in ability, i.e, strength, stealth, etc. with the nanosuits but you shoot them with one of the sleeping darts and their out like a light. WTF? Again, when they came out of their unplanned slumber, whammo with the strength-enhanced knuckle-sandwich. Ahh, good times.

hmm so I should buy warhead? is that stand alone? Looking at the LL FAQ:
I.7 Will Crysis be required to run MWLL? Will MWLL be available for free?
A: Yes, Crysis will be required to run MechWarrior: Living Legends and yes, MechWarrior: Living Legends will be made available free of charge. Definitely via download and maybe on some games magazines DVDs as well.

IF you just want it for LL, then I would follow the faq, as this particular project might be too far down the road. If you want it for long term mod support, I would get Wars. It is only available with Warhead.

The fact you call it a halo rip off makes your opinion worthless. You obviously know nothing of which you rant about.

Yea, if you can afford it, just get the whole show. Install it all, and have the ability to play mods in their preferred platform.

ShawnD1 has a point though. The gameplay is bland, story sucks, AI sucks at times, the physics is wierd sometimes but the idea of having a nanosuit was a plus, amazing graphics (except for the A buffer trees, they look terrible imo), and the ability to pretty much do anything you want sort of did it for me. It wasnt one of the greatest games ever released but it certainly aint one of the bad ones.

and people speaking about mods, we are talking about the game in itself, not mods. hell HL/hl2 had a lot of mods, but ppl still talk about how f-ing great of an experience hl2 was, the mods were just a plus. so next time before discrediting another person's opinion, think first before pulling shit out of your ass.
