Whats up with these high end head units not having a2dp

Looking to put in a system for my car and going to get a double den but this shit bugs the hell out of me. 500 to 1000 dollar pioneer and alpine units don't have a2dp for their bluetooth. Wtf is that? Scared that it would cut into their ipod accessories margin? I just want to stream my damn phone.

Wired sounds much better than A2DP, my TSX has bluetooth audio but sound quality sucks, I do use it to stream pandora when driving (or 5-0 radio) it works but its better with the 3.5 mm jack

well if you have an iphone i'd say just get the wire, it charges your iphone and lets you control it.

i personally have the X910BT

I'm using an aux right now. it can be such a bitch having these wires all the time. One to charge and an aux. At this point I feel without a2dp there isnt much of a reason to get bt at all. My old head unit had hands free bt and I ended up never using it as I really didn't want all my passengers hearing my phone convos.

Yeah that kinda sucks about BT phone, i usually just reject the call if anyone else is in the car and I don't want them to hear it.

BT streaming sucks, cable is much better

Hm so even Pandora is better with the 3.5?

I guess so since Bluetooth is pretty much useless I got another question. Is in dash navigation worth anything compared to me using google maps on my phone?

Oh sorry wrong copy and paste.

Pioneer AVH-P3300BT

thats a low end deck its not 500 bucks.. almost all the high end do have it.

you can get a 3300BT for about 300 bucks.

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P3.../dp/B00385I7TU
or Ebay new in box.

I would however skip that and do like I'm doing..
if you get the AVH-P3200DVD and use the Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter you can stream video and audio.

problem solved.

Meh, you're not missing out on much. My kenwood nav unit has it and the SQ from my iphone sucks. Even FM radio sounds better. I only use it when I forget my usb flashdrive at home when loading new music onto it.

That doesn't sound right. The A2DP quality with my hu is far better than that of any FM modulator or FM radio. Even the stock hu's A2DP in my brother's Mazda3 sounds better than FM radio.

I've never had any sound quality issues with using A2DP on my Kenwood DNX9960 when I had the Vette. The iPod integration was so much better however so I purchased the last generation 16GB Nano instead. Just plugged it in and left it in my glove box.

/agreed with both the last 2 comments..
something is up with your setup.
Sounds great in my car (pioneer setup as posted above) and my GFs new VW CC (stock system) using Iphones.

So I ended up going to a shop and decided on getting the P4300.

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P4...0919811&sr=8-1

They're willing to work with me and are pricing matching if its cheaper on Amazon.

So far I got:

Pioneer AVH-P4300
JL Audio TR600 x4 $80
Pioneer 4 channel Amp $190
Pioneer 2 channel Amp $190
Kicker CVR10 x2 $190
Box for subs $50
Dash Kit $45

Labor - $250

Total $1405

I found one of the amps for $140 on amazon and the subs for $60 each on amazon so I should shave $110 off.

What you guys think. They offered the Pioneer A series speakers for the same price but reading around I've heard nothing but amazingness from the JLs.

So going for lower end sound?
none of those components except the head deck are really great.
If you are just looking to go cheap with mediocre sound that should be ok.
but don't expect audiophile quality sound or even good factory sound from those particular speakers and amps..

a decent set of JL or Focal or Infinity, separates go for about 300-500 bucks by themselves just for the front and a really good set of mid range speakers you can look at least 200 bucks and then you have to spend the cash to get the factory enclosures dynomatted for them as well.

Pioneer amps are not known for their quality either
Memphis, Fosgate, JL etc are much better quality.

Dont skimp on sub boxes either.. it does matter, a 50 dollar box I question the materials as well as the wiring quality and fit and finish..
but mainly materials.. yes the quality of the wood and the box design all affect sound.
a good box will cost a decent amount unless you don't care.. but again expect flat or distorted bass and general lack of sound.

Just to give you an Idea of an A+ install my sub setup alone cost as much as you are spending on everything.
using a Kicker L7 12, Memphis 2 channel 300 watt Amp. and a custom enclosure and dynomat install. that included 6 gauge wiring install and a level knob installed in the car as well.

I have pics of the box installed but myself and the shop are not happy with the way the appearance turned out..
it is being redone again in matching carpet instead of black vinyl and a new grill and LED setup to show it off. We though that the black Vinyl would look like the black leather of the interior and the embossing would look alot better. but alas it did not so another day in the shop getting it done differently. (on the shops dime not mine)

For the price its what I can afford and what sounds good for that price.

I got a pair of these for $80. I still need to get the front ones, but couldnt do it today cause my tints were still fresh and they had to move the windows down.

Two of these for $95 each

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2061CVR...nvpair=FFSize|[rank9]12%22

Pioneer 4 ch for $190

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130GMD9...FBrand|Pioneer

Alpine 2 ch for $190 because they didnt have the Pioneer in stock

I was listening to one guy's car who put in 2 pairs of Focals today and yes they were amazing, but for $300-600 a set, depending on which model, its something that I really dont care to put into my Civic.
