they list an fx 55 as high end
they list 500+ video cards and sli 900+ as high end

and then a crappy 429 bucks display?

i believe the monitor should be the most expensive part of a system (unless its a server here) and thats also the last part one should try to save on. after all its the one thing you look at whenever you use your computer. your new highend system talks to you through the monitor, tells you whats going on and stuff. dont spend 850 bucks on an fx that runs 18% faster than a 3500+ at stock speed, 900+ bucks for two video cards and then ruin all the beauty buy going with a 429 bucks 17" display.

anand should fix this. else nice guide...

have you SEEN the 172X?! although people consider it to be on the smaller side, its still an awesome display

ya look its definitely not high end. have you seen the 3200+? its a nice processor that calculates stuff flawlessly just not as fast as the highend ones. same goes for the 6600gt. and this also goes for that display it might display stuff well just not as big as high end parts. high end is a quality part 21" and up not a quality part 17".

i think its more mid-to-high range . . . the price makes it mid-range, but the features lean towards high range

the size, dude, the size makes sure its nowhere near high end. small things are annoying. the only time when bigger isnt better is when we talk girls but right now were talking displays so bigger is better does apply.

WTF are you babbling about the 172X was part of the mid range sff system. I sure wouldn't want to be lugging a 22" CRT to a LAN party.
