Okay where do I begin. I am not sure why there seems to be a huge onslaught of crappy facebook, reddit, anandtech links lately but I'm getting real sick of clicking or previewing links that are titled like "You won't believe...", "5 shocking ways...", "What does the biebs have planned for his closet?".
This is the internet for god's sake. I understand the marketing behind having a title that could entice more clicks but really this is insulting on two levels. Don't tell me what I will or will not be shocked by... fuck you. Secondly, it insults the reader's intelligence as most readers know that it is purely for more clicks, yet this trend is spreading to half way legit news sites now.
Links that go to a video or a slideshow when the content can be shown on less than one printed page... this is actually adding even more insult as now we are forced to spend more time loading pages or watching a video for a topic that we knew was bs to begin with.
There's a place for these kinds of links and that was on crappy ads placed on the sides of explosm. I don't want to see these sorts of links plastered all over the place.
