What's up with the new Camry's rear lights?

Maybe because I live in Oldfartville, USA but there are quite a number of Camry's in the area. Twice now i've noticed that the rear lights on the new Camry suck, both the brake lights and the reverse lights. Nearly impossible to see in the daylight, especially when they are backing up in a parking lot.

Anyone else notice this?

I've never noticed any problems with being able to see them in direct sunlight. I've never had problems seeing pretty much any reverse/brake lights in direct sunlight unless the lights were modified/smoked in some way.
