Ok, here's what's up with the Matrix. The first movie was a masterpiece, and the other two were embarrassing messianic derivative crap.

Stop thinking about 2 and 3. They're just plain dumb.

And change the summary. Spoilers are not cool. Suppose you were the last person on earth who hadn't seen the Matrix series (an office you apparently held quite recently) and you happened upon that before watching the first movie. It would ruin the whole experience, which is the point. Movies like The Matrix don't come along very often, and you can never get unspoiled.

The part that I totally didin't get was in the last one, with that dude The Architect. Some crap about controlling free choice by forcing Neo to choose between love and saving a select number of people from Zion? Then he starts getting all mathy and I lost him. Then Neo ends up saving everyone anyway by going to the machine city and dying for them? The Wachowski brothers must have their own lab where they could create the amount they would need to hallucinate that movie.

Neo was given the illusion of choice. No matter how many times he met the Architect he always chose the selfish choice to save the one he loved and risk damning humanity. He basically always calls the bluff, but it doesn't matter because it always ends up the same way. If I understand correctly, the only thing that really changed the outcome of the 6th version of zion was the virus known as agent smith. That is why you can clearly tell Zion was about to be destroyed before the truce was made.
