I have noticed that they have failed to update their model on their site (they only offer 2001 preludes, and not 2002), yet they have updated the majority of all the cars. Are they gonna dump the Prelude line - or is something else up?

well the prelude doesnt seem to sell to well.. seeing fewer and fewer of them out on the streets now. I hadnt heard anything about them being dumped though. I think honda should bring back the CRX!

They dropped the Prelude line for the '02 year I think

And the 'lude was just too heavy and cumbersome...it weighed in around 3100 lbs

Its been replaced by the RSX......a shame I think..

Prelude may be heavier but its a better car. Double wishbone suspension all around......lower center of gravity......better looks......better steering feel ......I've been driving a 97 prelude manual since it came out .....and I have driven the RSX Type-S numerous times......Prelude just feels more solid and maybe except for the heavier clutch feel (of the prelude) and the lack of a 6-speed, ....Prelude is the better car.

I liek them. I expecially like 1997's w/ the light metallic green paint. I think they might need to do a slight redesign of it. They need to include more options, interior and exterior.

they are discontinuing the prelude...if you think about it was digging into honda's own sales of it's accord coupe and vice-versa

it does not have a replacement...the RSX replaces the Integra...not the prelude

:( That's so sad. If they just would have had a 6generation, with a complete body overhaul, I bet it could have sparked some competition and jumped sales........ :(

Discontinued. However, the RSX is NOT the replacement. The RSX is a replacement for the Integra. Actually..the RSX is still the Integra in Japan, Acura just wanted to try to class it up.

I read on www.vtec.net, that a new sports coupe will debut in a couple years.

I heard a rumor a while back saying Honda is dumping the Prelude to develop a 4-door sports sedan to compete with BMW 3-series and IS300... Just a rumor though, dont know if it's true...

But if u think about it, it kinda makes sense... Honda or Acura does not really have a high performance compact sedan in their lineup...

I am seriously looking at the IS300 as an alternative to a BMW 330ci at around $10K less. Kudos to Honda if they are considering jumping into the mix. The Acura TL Type-S just seems too big and fat for me, plus no RWD or stick!

I miss my 98 Prelude SH. That car was definitely fun to drive and an excellent handler. The only problem with it for me was the suspension bottomed out too easily and in NYC with potholes, that was a disaster waiting to happen.
