what's up with the Epox 8K7A and cpu voltages?

why does my tbird 750 report itself as running under 1.82 volts as default on this motherboard? on my old msi k7tpro2a, it reported it normally, as 1.65. that 1.82 volts makes it frikken hard to overclock, i either have to bump it up too high, or leave it too low.
