What's up with the Athlon 4?

Does anyone know when the Palimino, aka Athlon 4,
is going to be released for desktop systems?

Actually, it will be called the Athlon XP. It should be released somewhere in mid October. I most recent estimation I've heard is Oct. 15.

If they really are going to ride MS's coattails and call it the AthlonXP, it'll probably coincide with the launch of Windows XP.

Athlon4 is for mobile, and AthlonXP for desktop.

Athlon MP is for the portable world. Athlon XP is for the desktop. Athlon 4 is dead.

Yeah, AthlonMP is multi-processor....for the duallie boards like this one.... I originally thought Athlon 4 was the palamino core.....i havne't heard about the XP yet......wish they'd get it straight
