Am I supposed to use that? I obviously have the 24 and the 8 pin plugged in. Specs in signature. Thank you.

I think that this is an option for improving overall system stability if your video solution has significant power requirements.

Do you have a port for that in the mobo? or are you talking about the cable from PSU? If its the PSU cable you are talking about, I believe its used for Video cards?

hmm... I wonder what it is for... maybe to power the PCI bus which might be shared by the external controllers like marvell... in case all pcie slots are used... I guess its in line with what stahlhart suggested above.

So it would not be required for a Single GTX 570 I have?

Probably not -- I'm doing okay with a 560Ti SLI while not using it. I'm guessing you'd need to be doing something like tri-SLI with 580s (or perhaps SLI 480s or 580s), something drawing significant power through the slots.
