So I get an email from a company saying they have my resume and to call them for an interview. I do not remember sending them my resume, but they do have it.
I've been sent emails 4 or 5 times instructing me to call for an interview, but I had a question. What would I be doing at so and so company and for what position... well I never received an answer and was told a couple more times to call for an interview.

Why wouldn't you tell a prospective employee? .. Something to hide?

It's a headhunter. He found you on Google/Monster/Dice or some place like that. He probably doesn't even have a job offer. He's probably just building a database of people, their skillset, location, willingness to relocate, current salary and contract etc. etc. for reference in the future.

I used to do this as a part-time job. I would build the contact-list in free time (when it was a slow day at work and I didn't want to do my boss any other, more annoying favors). I bet the guy wasn't even calling from the company willing to hire.

Company A is recruiting. They ask head-hunting firm B to search for candidates. If they are really busy, they ask firm C to do it. Along the way, everyone will try and work their slice off your bill rate or something.

That job sucked. I would feel like a used car salesman.

No I didn't call because if the company can keep emailing me, then they can easily tell me what I "applied" for.
