what's up with ppl signing their posts?

i have noticed some ppl sign their username to the end of their posts. we can see their name by their avatar already.

explain.

maybe its because after ppl qouting so many times the name gets out of view so its easier to see who the post was by without having to scroll back up?

It's back from the days when we didn't have posts that showed usernames. It showed IPs and seeing how they were Dynamic because of dial-up. signing your username was your way of identifying who you were. Or so I've heard

Well it saves me all that energy of having to remember who the poster was, or move my eyes back up and to the left. I mean if I had to do that for every post, I'd just be completely worn out. 😉
