Whats up with my monitor?

I dont know when it began or if it ever changed but it seems like my monitor is darker

I just installed and played doom and its almost black. Even the first part when you first start of by landing on the dock. It seems very dark wehen compared to my brothers monitors. I have to turn up the gamma and brightness but then my desktop is so bright and almost white. Is my monitor going? Its an older ev910 19".

It just seems like it cant produce those gfx when in low lighting
