What are all those letters doing there under each drive? The C, F, J, L, R and S? and how do I get rid of them?

right click anywhere in there, 'arrange icons by', and unselect 'show in groups'

i hate when XP does that.

what do u want it to look like?

its all under the arrange icon stuff. tinker with that to get your desired look.
