Whats up with Krispy Kreme?

We had one open in Minnesota this morning. It was on the news last night every five minutes, live reports. There were a bunch of people, (apparently without lives) that were camping overnight!?! They cant be that good, I dont care what anyone says, its a doughnut!

You take that back right now.

Actually, go over there and EAT ONE then come back here and take back that statement.

It's like saying a Ferrari is "just a car".

Same thing happened when the first KK in this area opened up a few months ago. The person who was first in line showed up 12 hours before the store opened.

I love doughnuts, and KK is good, but like you said.... it's just a doughnut. For me it's a 25-minute drive to KK and 10 minutes to the supermarket that makes doughnuts, and I buy them at the supermarket.

<< They're honestly not all that wonderful. They're good... but they're not worth camping overnight for. >>

...They're like eating sugar bombs.. They're quite good, but if you eat more than 2 at once, you feel kind of sick...

Ugh.

hehe 🙂

You want a frenzy...wait till you see the KK factory on wheels. It's an 18 wheeler with clear sides that has a full donut production line inside of it. They run it across the country for big events like state fairs and big conventions and what not.

I'm trying to get my company to send it up to Sturgis, SD this summer for the bike rally 😀

We have a couple on Long Island and it is nothing that good. I still prefer other donut shops over KK. Their donuts are heavy.

My idiot friend (actually he is my best friend, but in this case I am sooo jealous) eats 10-12 every morning without fail. He had his knee operated on in early March and the very next day he hobbled to his car and got himself a dozen doughnuts. He is as skinny as a twig, wtf? 😉

<< serialb it is in Maple Grove by Hops, Joes Crab Shack. >>

In Maple Grove? Damn, they must be expensive...

yeah, I cant eat more than one or two - so loaded with fat and sugar - about 6000 calories each.
Its like eating raw crisco on a roll, or uncooked pizza dough.
Bleh!

Actually a glazed KK donut has less calories than your average plain bagel.

All the grocery stores around here sell the equivalent of KKs. I love donuts and I won't soil their good name by calling KKs donuts. I agree with the 2 at most responses. Who ever thought coating every donut with a sickening sweet layer of sugar would be good.

I long for the days of the donuts of south-eastern PA. Man they had some good donut shops. Hands down favorite was Maple Donut in York, PA. Next favorite was the little amish shops around Lancaster.

What do they charge at KK for doughnuts? Are they expensive? How many different kind do they have? Are they all good? A friend of mine looked into openning a KK store, then he found out that you need 3 million dollars. Um........nevermind.

Try one. I can get them in my nearest supermarkets, but I think the closest store is about an hour away...the headquarters is an hour and a half..

I like the glazed, the fudge covered, and boston kreme...

<--salivating at the thought of a kk donut right now...

Bah, they suck. They are bland, small and they have nowhere near the selection of Shipleys or Dunkin doughnuts.

People who are obsessed with stupid things aren't loyal their stupid.

There isn't anything in a Krispy Kreme donut that is digestible - you can't metabolize the stuff, it get's dissolved in your digestive system then passed right through. Unfortunately for me, my body still tries to absorb the sugar/oil glaze and then decides it doesn't want it, and pushes it out of my pores and sinuses. Yes, my sinuses leech krispy kreme glaze. 🙁

Buying them from a supermarket or gas station isn't the same. For the true experience you have to be at the bakery and get them off the line while they're still hot. They go down like Tic Tacs...you can eat a dozen without even realizing it...

Mmmmmmmm..............
