sorry if this is a repost... but I just read this article

the board sounds great... but why did Iwill use an ALI Magik chipset?!... now if they used VIA KT266A or nForce.. then I'd be really excited!
I love Iwill boards... but i don't think I could commit to an ALI Magik chipset... I'm hoping they come out with a KT266A board soon!!

Yep. That's a great project. I know, it's a shame that it's MAGiK, but hopefully in the near future they will come to their senses and put KT266A.

I believe that is the new stepping of the Ali chipset, which perfroms on par with the Sis 735. So its no slouch. Ali's south bridge is maybe the best performing on the market, bar none. So it might turn out to be a real sleeper. Here's a review of the new stepping, New Ali Stepping.

classy- thx for the article... very interesting... it will be interesting to see how MAGiK 1 (version b) will compare to the KT266A and nForce once all these chipsets are established.

edit: opps b version.. thats what I meant to say... sorry!

MAGiK 1 version 'C'? The review posted by classy only covers revision 'B'. I wonder what speed/stability improvements we can find in the 'C' version. I have always been happy with the stability and compatability of ALi chipsets, so I will definitely keep my eye on this development.
