What's up with HD 2900XT prices?

I heard a rumor that the flames on the cooler add 5 fps.

Can you confirm?

i can confirm that they add 5 degrees C

Finally ... if i am allowed to be serious for a moment ... how the heck can i get lost coast without D/L'ing it from STEAM? .. it is at 11% and it has been over 10 hours ... i think i am getting a game i can't play along with it

Haha. In high school I dated the dumbest blonde cheerleader I have ever met in my life. When The Fast and the Furious came out on DVD, we were watching it and when we got to the part when they put the sticker on the side of the Supra she asks me, "Hey, doesnt the decal add 10 horsepower". LOL. :laugh:

STEAM is slow man. Even on my 10 mbps cable, it took a looong time to download. I think the best I have ever gotten off of STEAM was like 50kb/s compared to my 1mb/s I get from FilePlanet.

I would download it and mail it to you on a DVD, but I dont think that is possible.

why not? ... the Post Office would have it here much quicker then over my 56K ... i just looked ... it is now at 11% ... it is gonna take 3 or 4 *more* overnights .. and i would be glad to pay for it and/or trade a game maybe ... you could also do the 238 MB Q4 patch for me

i *will be* getting wireless broadband sometime in August .. so problem solved ... then

it is just taking so damn long to get a very few D/Ls ... Big D/Ls ... otherwise, i would have had most of the 2900xt benches done by now
--it isn't like i can do an install of XP or Vista while d/ling ... everything "waits" [except i am doing benching just to familiarize myself with it - while everything else is running ... gotta love that 2nd core ... looking forward to 2 more

i have MOST of FC ... but still need a couple of the latest

and that is ALL that is holding me back from basic testing with Keys and now n7

of course, later - if i get more games - maybe Call of Juarez [is it a good game, anyway?], i will run benches untill i have to return either card ... if i decide to keep the XT, then i won't keep the GTS much longer - it doesn't seem fair - even to BB.

I said I didnt think it was possible because I'm not sure if you could just pluck a file off of STEAM and burn it to a DVD.

I'm happy to do it for you dude. I've got a bunch of blank DVDs here. PM a list of stuff you need and I'll have it in the mail in the next couple of days depending on how much stuff you want.

well, i don't want to buy CH1 - again ... and i will even get it again after that with "black box" if i keep the XT

perhaps i should search my old files for my steam password ... '06 is when Ch1 came out right? it might be quicker ... they don't even have any "secret questions" ... although i though i filled some out ... maybe i should contact CS .. but then i need to find the receipt .. you'd think the product key would be enough .. it is for MS and any OS activation :|

as long as i can get 4 good game benches by this weekend, it'd be a good start ... maybe i should forget LC - for now - and concentrate on FarCry

EDIT: good news ... i already have FC .. updated to the latest 1.4 culmulative patch ... and the benchmark tool is 2MB ... phew!

i'll stay on steam as long as i can ... tonigh ... then i'll just look for another bench ... maybe Serious Sam2 ... something with less than a 100GB of patches.


and i THOUGHT lost coast was available in the past as a tech demo ... i though i already had it ... maybe i will look thru my old[er] stuff

don't feel bad ... wireless broadband has just arrived to my area ... BUT i *also* see the cable guys measuring my road ... and Dish network might also be offering a 'special'

so ... i'd say by mid-August, i will have broadband ... it is just *inconvenient* to be on dial-up ... for example Steam just stayed at 11% last night

anyway, i *looked* it is quite possible to D/L over Steam and "back up " the files ... i just need to look ... i may have LC ... already ... somewhere

so at least i can benchmark, STALKER, FarCry, PREY and FEAR ... everything is updated and i know how to run them .... i can always add LC later

i will get started on my new installations of Vista/XP tonight ... GTS arives tomorrow [i hope] ... and i can get serious

Is Call of Juarez any good? i would consider buying it [today] *only* if it is a decent FPS ... and it does have a DX10 path/features patched in

i want a new game that i would also like to play .. CoH doesn't do it for me ...
unless someone wants to send me their copy [i can return it next week]

i am *dying* to actually PLAY a videogame ... benching doesn't quite fill that "need"
