Ever notice that Google does special art for Olympics, World Cup, Mother's Day, Boxing Day, etc. but didn't do anything today for Flag Day.. and come to think of it, didn't do anything Memorial Day either???

Sometimes they update late in the day if they realize they forgot.
 
I didn't even know it was Flag Day, or that such a day existed. Maybe they figured nobody gave a damn.

From what I hear, the doodles are done as a side project by a Google employee. It's not his full-time responsibility, so unless it's a major holiday, his normal workload probably dictates how often he can create them.
