What's up with Corsair CS

I'm going to build a budget gaming system for a friend. Seems it will be a FX6300 we will moderately overclock, and a Gigabyte 270X card.

As we will overclock, I have opted for a 650 watt PSU, this also gives him some room to put in any GPU he wishes to some years down the road. Basically a fire and forget PSU is what I want.

XFX is the goto PSU, but I think I found better in the Be Quiet line. It basically scores well in reviews, is modular and also particularly quiet, at a lesser cost than the XFX.

But at a rather small premium, I see that I can put Corsair Gold into the budget machine. The CS 650. It's basically 10 bucks more and it seems worthwhile to get a Gold certificate on a Corsair PSU.

But why is it so cheap? Corsair is all about the RM series these days, and this CS seems to have gone under the radar. Is it a good PSU or what?
