Guys,
Over the weekend I unplugged a phone cord to a USR internal modem, to keep neices from using it. Cord setup is from wall plug to powerstrip, then out of powerstrip to modem plug. I forgot it was unplugged and received an error message while trying to dial that the modem was unable to establish a dialtone.
I shut the system down, plugged in the phone cord, restarted the system, and received the same error message. Now is seems whatever I do I receive the same error message that the modem is unable to establish a dialtone. What am I missing here? Any suggestions toward getting this modem to once again "pick up the phone?"
TIA,
Jeff
