I did a repair on a friend's laptop and he gave me is old screen.

Is there anyway to make an adaptor to mount the laptop screen to the wall and use it as an extra screen or double monitor?

The Dell code is: LCD, UXGA, SPWG, BMV, 15, SHARP with a connector ASSY, CBL, COAX, SGA+-UXGA, CABN.

Is there an adaptor for VGA or DVI?

Thanks!

For a laptop display you need to find a compatable controller card, a inverter, and a power supply for it.

This is extremely hard to do for a random display, for the controller card they are made generic and the manufacturer would program the card specificly for a specific display as it leaves the factory. You can find controller cards that are programmed to be used with more then one display, but you are dealing with a compatability of 8 out of probably 200-300 different incompatable varations and types.

Then on top of that you have all sorts of different connectors and whatnot, and those have to be custom made lots of times. Then you have to build a case to house all that stuff.

If you want a laptop-style LCD go check out a kit from some place like EarthLCD and sell yours on ebay. Or just go out and buy a desktop lcd, it's cheaper, they have better response time, are brighter, probably have better contrast and colors.
