What's this tape?

I just received a Swiftech MC370-0A HSF not long ago. I won it a LAN party and it came only in a sandwhich bag.

The only thing in the bag was the HSF and a small rectangle black tape. But the tape has a few round pieces you can tear off. The tape has a slight grainy texture. What is this piece of tape for?

hehe i think i remember your earlier post when you were trying to figure out what you won.


i think those are the extra pads to put on the bottom of the heatsink, if needed.
i know my alpha pal6035 came with these.

The round pieces are taped to the corners of the heatsink if you are using an Intel processor. If you are using an AMD leave them off as the processor chip already has the spacers.
