What's this mean?

I've got an order for a new keyboard, and so I checked up on it to get this message:

Your order has been processed and is being drop-shipped from our vendor. (To facilitate order shipment, some items ship directly from our vendor to you. You will receive an email containing your tracking number 24 to 48 hours after these items have been shipped.)

Oh yeah, what does drop-shipped mean? Is that a fancy word for processed but not sent yet or something? Basically, I want to figure out if I'll have it before the end of the week.

That means they have your money, and they've forwarded your order to the people that actually have this stuff. They will then ship it to you.

Basically, it means that to cut their costs, they are simply sending a direct order to the manufacturer. What they are telling you is that they have placed an order in your name.

Dropshipped means that the place doesnt keep stock of your item and a bigger company(usually a distributor) is shipping the item to you. In most cases you wont know who the 3rd party is. Dont worry, its been sent out. The person you bought from just doesnt have the tracking info yet. They have to get it from the place who is actually shipping the item to you

It means it's being shipped directly from their suppliers warehouses instead of from their own warehouse. Not sure if it makes a difference in whether it comes sooner or later.

It means that it's being shipped directly from the supplier to you, and not being shipped to the people you ordered from.

This happens a lot with car parts. Say you order a Ford crate motor from XYZ Automotive. XYZ doesn't have it in stock, so they order one from ford and have it drop-shipped directly to your house.

Edit: Wow, that was a lot of replies in a short time.

It means that UPS will take extra care to drop your package repeatedly until the contents are broken into bite sized pieces.
