128k isdn external modem

If I used something like this on my regular AT&T dial up account will I get higher than 56k speeds? Or do you have to have DSL of something higher than dial up for it to work right?

It is not a DSL modem, it is an ISDN modem. You can only get an ISDN line from the phone company to make it to work right, and then it should give you 128k.
It's probably a more expensive service than dsl so your best bet is to go with dsl or cable cause usually the companies provide you with the modem with your service.
