Whats this error msg for Windows 2000 mean??

Configuring the Page file for crash dump failed. Make sure there is a page file on the boot partition and that is large enough to contain all physical memory.

I have had this error several times and when it occurs the machine crashes hard or reboots itself. How do I fix this.
Thanks

Basically it means a) your swap file is smaller than your physical ram and b) it does not have more than your physical ram located on the boot partiton.

So make the Swap File on C: larger than your physical ram.

Ok, the inital size is set to 384 and the maxiumum is 768. So what schould I set it to
That is for all drives to.
I have 256mb of ram.
And the maximum registry size is set to 70meg, what schould this be?

Thanks

Usually you set it to the double of the availble amount of memory. So that you wouldf have a total of 630mb. With lower amounts like 128mb it's three times the amount of memory.

AoD 😉

There's a Knowledge Base article on Microsoft's support site about this I believe. I think if you have Adaptec's Take Two on your system you may get this error message on startup.

I don't have Adaptec's Take Two installed unless it is a part of Adaptec's EZ SCSI. So I schould set it to a minium of 630 and a maxumim of what?

Thanks
