The sides of my monitor, both the Dell2001FP and the 22" samsung have bright colors on the sides of it, mainly while playing games.

I'm not sure what this is called, but it's extremely annoying.... Any ideas on how to fix it?
 
I find it odd, that both the 2001FP and the Syncmaster 22" both do the same thing in almost identical spots- especially since I've had the 2001FP for years, and it only started doing it a couple months ago... >_>
