Whats this - Bus master PCI IDE Driver

I just upgraded a computer with an epox 8kha+. The Driver disk conatins the 4 in 1's the audio drivers the PCI IDE driver and a USB driver .

I installed the via 4 in 1 and everything was fne. Booted back into windows 2000. Then I installed the Bus master PCI IDE Driver and rebooted and windows hung on the loading screen. So I reinstalled 2000.

Do I need to install the PCI IDE Driver? and what is it.

Also, should I install the USB Driver.

If all your drives are being recognized, I don't really see why you would need to install an IDE driver. IDE drivers would handle the interface for hard drives and cd/dvd drives in case you don't know.

And I would only install the USB drivers if windows doesn't recognize the USB ports automatically.
