Perhaps go find a fresh durian and jackfruit in Chinatown, something I have never been able to find in California.

Lions game is a good suggestion. I would also highly recommend visiting Granville Island, esp the brewery. Tasty stuff!

When's Veterans Day? Blackcomb mountain opens on the 20th, Whistler on the 25th. On the way to Whistler, check out the chief in Squamish for a hike if its nice out.

Granville St for night life, and check out Gastown and Yaletown. Commercial Dr for shopping if you like outdoor gear. Great deals on music at various record stores - Canada used to be much cheaper for this stuff, not sure if it siill is.

I said most of this before, you repeated it, and now I'm gonna say it again cause it's such a good idea :)

Friday afternoon/lunch: Granville Island (brewery and oyster bars)
Friday night/dinner: Yaletown (yaletown brewhouse pub is NICE. Excellent beer and I swear you need to flash your "hot person membership id" to get in... nothing but hotties in there)
Saturday morning: Capilano suspension bridge
Saturday afternoon: Robson street/dinner at Joe Fortes (steak and seafood) or a good sushi place
Saturday night hit up the bars on Granville.
Sunday morning: White spot breakfast
Sunday afternoon: LIONS GAME!!!

There ya go.

That's an exaggeration. There are a lot of chinese here, but it's not half. There are sections of the city where you can easily get by if you only know cantonese and no english at all, but there are also parts where you can do the same if you speak only punjabi (east indian).

Yeah!

It is an exaggeration, but it does seem that there are many Chinese there.

2 or 3 years ago, there were a study that put lower mainland Asian (including East Indian) population at 22%.

The metropolitan Vancouver area is comprised of 37.5 per cent foreign-born residents.. -- And, about half of that is Chinese immigrant.

I believe the City of Richmond (aprt of Vancouver) had Chinese-speakers at 40%. The rest of (Greater) Vancouver isn't like that though. It's not just Chinese, there are many many other noticable "minorities". That's what makes Vancouver so great.

Wow I never realized there's so much to do. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm actually not a drinker, so I don't know about going to all those bars. I would love to go to Whistler, but I checked the website and it doesn't open til the 25th. I forgot about the asians that are up there, for some reason I pictured only Canadians or French people. Where's the best place to buy souveniers/shirts? What is something I should get that can only be found in Vancouver?

I was reading Frommer's and they said Capilano is a "tourist trap rip off." Below is what they recommended. Thoughts?

But here are the top attractions in order of preference by Frommers with star rating:

***Stanley Park
***Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre
***Museum of Anthropology
***Granville Island
**Vancouver Art Gallery
*Grouse Mountain Resort
*The Dr. Sun Yat-sen Classical Chinese Garden
*Science World British Columbia
Vancouver Maritime Museum
Vancouver Centennial Police Museum
H.R. MacMillan Space Centre
Capilano Suspension Bridge & Park
Vancouver Museum

I think the art gallery is overrated, but I don't have much of an appreciation for art.
Science world has turned into a baby-sitting service. There's little cool science there for adults now IMO. The saving grace is the omnimax theatre.
Museum of Anthropology is neat if you want to learn a little about the indiginous people. Too much thinking for me though :)

Stanley Park/Aquarium is a very good one though. The weather is nice right now so it'd be perfect.
Granville Island is a good one as we've been saying. It's pretty cool there.
