What's there to do in Vancouver, Canada?

I'm gonna go to Vancouver for a mini vacation during Veteran's Day weekend. What's there to do there? I've never been to Canada before so don't know what to expect. Hows the culture, people, must see places, weather? Well I'll probably just be happy getting away from all the stress here and being in another country. Being from Hawaii/SoCal, I'm sure I'll also enjoy the cold weather up there too.

Go to Richmond (FOB HQ) and the World's longest Suspension Bridge up in West Vancouver!

I used to live in West Van. Brian Adams lived on our street. We'd see him driving around all the time.

Go to the following places:

Nat's Pizza on Denman
Whistler (it opens soon for skiing)
Robson St.
BC Lions game!

You came to Vancouver and you didn't hook up with the Vancouver Crew? 🙁

That weekend looks like it's going to be half decent weatherwise. If you get a nice day, definitely go out and do something outside. The suspension bridge is a nice touristy thing to do, Robson street... If you're into the night life check out Granville street. CFL football playoff game is on Sunday. You can probably get some cheap tickets still ($30 or so) and I can guarantee this game will be entertaining. The last regular game of the year was played by the same two teams. Our team was up by 18 points with 5 minutes left. The other team got 3 bloody touchdowns in just under 2:30 to go ahead. We had 0:41 left and scored the winning touchdown on the last play of the game 😀

It also depends on what kinds of things you're into. Outdoorsy? More of a city type person? Relax in the pub?

Oh, I'd recommend Granville Island (psst... it's not REALLY an island 🙂 ). It's a neat place to go with markets and shops and the oh so good GI brewing company. You can go in and sample their beers (winter ale is out now... oh so damned good). Tons of good seafood there too. Oyster bars etc. It's definitely got the Vancouver feel to it.

Oh, and if you're hot, blonde and a chick, you can do me. I'll even give you a place to stay for the night... Aquaman's 😀
