What's there to do in Detroit?

There are 3 big casinos in Detroit: MGM Grand, Motor City, and Greektown. They are not as big as the giant Las Vegas casnios, but they are probably as big as the ones in Atlantic City. I've been to Greektown and it was pretty nice, although I'm not into gambling.

The Greektown portion of downtown Detroit has some nice Greek restraunts. Dearborn is the home of Ford, and also has a very large Arab community, so there are many good Middle Eastern restraunts there.

The North American International Auto Show is next week at Cobo Hall. It's a MUST SEE if you've never been. World's largest car show.

EDIT: not sure of date - you might be too early.

Dearborn has the largest Arab population in all of North America...

The auto show is not open to public until Saturday. January 15th. It is open for Industry Preview Days on Wednesday and Thursday which I'm hoping to go with some of my customers. The cost is $60 for these 2 days though.

Foodwise, I've always enjoyed Big Fish Seafood Bistro located by the shopping mall. Just ask someone for the direction to the mall.

You can always cross the border and goto Windsor, Canada as well.
