What's the worst speeding ticket you've ever gotten?

I got a ticket for going 75mph in a 45mph zone a year ago. It was $300 and 5 points, and I have a 4-point (young driver's) license.
The 45mph zone was on a freeway where the flow of traffic was 60mph, and that's how fast I thought I was going, so when I contested they knocked my speed down to 60mph.. only 2 points :)

I have never gotten one.

That being said, I'm sure I'll get pulled over on the way home.

You thought you were going 60, but you were actually going 75? No speedometer?

Was doing 54 in 40. Got a $161 dollar ticket. But my boss at the time was good friends with the cop that gave me ticket and I got it removed. I've been really watching my speed since then, learned my lesson. :)

It wasn't a speeding ticket, but I ran a red light in front of a police station and got ticketed

That was back in my younger foolish days. (I was mad at someone who cut me off. He made it thru the light, so I followed . . . )

Never had a speeding ticket. (1) I only drive 4 mph over the limit, and few cops will waste his/her time pulling you over for that, heck in the town where I grew up there was a city policy that all judges would automatically throw out any tickets which aren't at least 5 mph over the limit. (2) If the traffic is so bad that they ignore all speed limits and go 75 in a 45, I'll find anouther route.

Haven't gotten one yet. Pulled over for the first time in years two weeks ago for going too fast through a yield sign (other people had stop signs).

Oh well, cop only gave a warning.

44 in a 30... stupid cop was hiding at the bottom of a hill. Went to driving school and got it removed. That's 4 hours of my life and 100 bucks I'll never see again.

It was an old POS car, so the speedometer was inaccurate. Nonetheless I think the cop inflated my speed a little there...

Never received one. One that I should have got (let go with a warning) was 83 in a 40 zone (backroad). Ah, to be young and stupid again.

If that wasn't around a school I would contest that. 30km/h limits are BS in most of the places you see them. I used to live in this suburb where this long stretch of straight wide road was 30km/h (20mph for you americans), and the worst part of it is that there were ZERO crossings of the road! Nobody would EVER cross this road because there was a freeway on the other side! I think someone else shared my frustrations and repainted one of the "30km/h" signs to read "80km/h".. lmao.

Was that road an important road (ie if it was shut down would it seriously affect traffic flow in the area)? And was that road used by any police, fire trucks, or ambulances?

Back in '91 I was doing 90 in a 55mph zone just so I wouldn't be late for a final. :disgust: Never, ever would I be so stupid as to do that again but I learned the hard way.

Oh and he said he could take me to jail or take my license until I paid the fine. What a difficult decision - NOT! He gave me some temporary slip of paper noting I could drive for like a week or something until I got my regular license back. Plus, I got a reckless driving AND no inspection sticker ticket. What a great day that was. Ugh.
