2000 Ford Exploder XLT V-6 SOHC

At 63k it had to have the front and rear timing chains replaced AGAIN , the guides AGAIN, the balance shaft chain and guides (AGAIN) and had developed a (according to the Ford mechanic), the most god-awful case of sludge he'd ever seen. This was with 3k oil changes with either Castrol/Pennzoil or Trop Artic 5/30oil.

What a piece of sh!t, glad to get rid of it.

(yes i know there was a warranty campaign on part of those problems) did I mention this was the 2nd time those above items were replaced, the first time was at 51k?

89 Dodge Caravan.

Only 70k miles. Paid 3k for it around 1997. Spent at least $1500 over the next year on various repairs. Water pump, broken front axle, alternator, etc., etc., etc. Then the transmission died. Paid $1000 for rebuild. 3 weeks later, the engine blew up. Sold it for parts to some guy who owned another Caravan for like $300.

My late 70's Corolla that my parents paid $100 for in 1988 was a far more reliable car. Ran for a year and a half without any problems at all.

Best car ever: 91 Accord. Bought new in 91, drove for 5 years and 80k miles. Total cost of repairs over those 5 years: about $200 for a CV joint replacement.

1986 Buick Sommerset. This thing was a POS! Constant engine problems (stalling, overheating), electrical problems, and sensors going bad. The ownership of an american car leaves a big hole in your pockets. The saddest part was that it only had about 32K+ miles in it before we decided to just get rid of it since it wouldn't start any more.

My grandmother was actually worried i would 'hot rod' it around.

1996 Ford Escort.

there's a ton of reasons... it has low milage and hasn't given me any major engine problems, but I'm the third person to own it. the first owner was a first-time driver, and she really road it pretty hard.

it handles like crap, the driver's seat is broken so that I can't move it back, several inside lights are out and can't be repalced without a ton of work (ie: removing the whole dashboard), it makes this clicking noise whenever I'm driving between 15 and 40 MPH (had my mechanic take a look, but he wasn't able to find anything wrong... now I just blast the radio so I can't hear it), and just a few weeks ago the horn had a catastrophic failure. haha. it wouldn't stop beeping. my mechanic had to disconnect the horn entirely and ghettorig a button next to the steering wheel for me to press that honks the horn.

I'm probably getting a new car sometime in the next 2-3 months :)
