well there's really nothing to be sorry about, but let me try to remember..
we met in this IRC chatroom, we just kinda clicked and we chat a lot, not excessively, but quite a lot. after a few months, i got a chance to visit where she lives, so we arranged to go out (where she lives was also where i went to college some two years before, so the 'date' with her was only one of the many plans that i had for that visit. the main things were to get together with my old college friends that were still around).
i picked her up, i started feeling this weird vibration the minute she came out of her apartment. it just felt really awkward, and i knew she felt it too. we went for a ride around town, trying to get out of the awkwardness, and finally we stopped at a nice restaurant where we can talk (i thought it was safe, since i already know we clicked when we chat).
but talking didn't help at all, in fact she started making these jokes and talked about things in a way that actually offended me, which made me really surprised because it didn't seem like she's the kind of person who would say something like that. that kinda turned me off, so i stopped trying, and just hoped that the night will end soon.
after i got back we still chat, but not as often as before. i tried to smoothly avoid her (maybe she did too, i don't know), until finally we just lost contact.
the end.
(i know, very boring and amazingly lacking of content for a four paragraph story, but after writing for 20 minutes straight i'm not just gonna delete it.. heheh...)

I've shagged a few online encounters. Girls I've met online never really seemed like dating material, though.
well i've generally found that the online connection doesn't translate into a real-worl connection. the real-world connection may or may not be there, but whether you click online has nothing to do with it. so i met one girl that was great, and we still hook up sometimes, and some others that were kinda *shrug*. even if we don't click, i've never had it be "weird," just not very exciting.
I've dated three, all were nice gals.. but all told me they loved me by the third date.
That just seemed too strange for me. A few online chats, couple of dates, and it's love?

Date that never happened as girl that I had been talking voice with for a few weeks invited me out to dinner...her picture was nice, she said it was recent but she put on a couple pounds from her move.
On the way to the meet she calls and says her car won't start and can I pick her up....I get there she answers with a sort of moppy buzz cut, tattoos even on her face, and her couple pounds was noticibly more...not obese, but not a few pounds over the 110 or so she looked...
The screwed up part of this was a semi naked girl on her fold out couch. She said 'she didn't know how to ask, but just want to eat here?' I had already told her I had plans after dinner (a lie but easy to blow out on the date or call to 'cancel')...I left.
Another two were hook ups traveling (gotta love aol)....one was a pretty cool chick I had talked with for about a year at the time, lived in north florida. We met at her house, she had another couple staying with her while her kid was at his dad's (I was late 20's, she was 31). We danced and just goofed around at her place, it was a laid back time...fell asleep together on her couch and woke up and we ended up back in her room...spent about 3 days with her. It was a good time.
Later on the same trip passing through texas met another chick I spoke with for a while. Met for dinner out with the implication I was just passing through...got invited back to her house and 'why pay for a hotel you can stay here'....that went well right after the chocolate covered strawberries she prepared came out....I stayed there that following weekend.
That's about the craziest of them from online...that I can remember. There were more lukewarm than hot ones....only a few miserable times, but a lot of friends were made.
Edit: don't really stay in touch, the latter two I still get an occasional email from.
