Your own inquiries do not count against you.

Just go to TrueCredit and get one of their packages. Yes, you'll have to pay for it. But it will be infinitely more detailed than the free reports that typically give you a FICO score with no explanation or history behind it.

The only FREE credit reports that I know of require you sign up for one of their $69.95 "Credit Watch Bull Sh!t" services which is free if you cancel within 30 days.

If you'd prefer a no hassle approach I'd order directly from TrueCredit.com or from EquiFax.com the credit reporting agency itself, the best deal is their EquiFax Score Power for $12.95 which allows you to view your credit report online immediately and gives you your FICO credit score so you know if you're a scumbag or have bullet proof credit.

Try some creative Google searches using the words free credit report New Jersey or NJ also include the credit bureau's names EquiFax, Experian and TransUnion.

Good luck!
