What's the typical relationship between fan speed and cpu temp?

For those who have temperature controlled fan throttling, do you all know what the typical temperature set points are for the fan control? i.e. If the CPU reaches say 65 degrees the fan is full throttle at 12v? Or say it goes down to 24 degC and the fan drops to 3V or even turns off? I'm running an experiment but I'm supplying external fan control and would like to mimic typical motherboard reactions.

Thanks for the help,

With Asus Q-Fan, I can tell you that the fan never turns off. Voltage should be somewhere between 7-12. But I've never measured it or seen it measured.
