I'm looking for a really really thin laptop with a decently large screen. I don't care about performance, all I'm gonna do is carry it around and work on my homeworks for school.

thanks

Asus V6800V

During CeBIT 2005, Asus claimed its newest V6800V to be the thinnest and lightest notebook PC with a 15-inch screen. While some versions of the V6800V series will be only .9 inches thick, our model is 1-1.18? thick and only 5.5 pounds with the 8-cell battery.

The X505 is definitely the thinnest I've seen, but only has a ~10 inch screen. For 15"-ers, I think the Asus is your best bet. Anyone know of any better?

Check out the Dell X1 under small business on the site. it's a small widescreen, and the optical drive is external. really really small.

I think the IBM Thinkpad X series are really small. They claim that they have the smallest footprint.

thanks for the suggesations, but actually I like it as thin as possible, not the size of the footprint. I'd rather prefer a thin laptop with a huge screen... the Dell X1 looks great, but I'm afraid it's too small length and width-wise.... finger cramps?

Look into the Asus V6V I told you about. Asus claims it is the thinnest 15" screen notebook around and I'm inclined to believe them.

The gateway 320 is a 1" thick 15" screen laptop. Plus, it's cheap. $799 with a 300 rebate right now. No idea if it is the thinnest 15" laptop, though.

Sounds close RedWolf, I know the Asus V6V can get as thin as 0.9". Sounds like the 320 might work for ya if money is an issue
