What's the thinnest 80mm fan?

I've a single fan PSU and I'm considering of putting one of those 80mm fan in on the side facing the CPU. I don't have the necessary space from the side so I need the thinnest one possible. Right now I don't have the dimension, but it's between 1.5cm to 1.0cm. The clearance is because of a PSU heatsink.

If that's not possible, I'm gonna try the 60mm fan. Is there any quiet ones out there?

Come to think of it, adding a second fan isn't a very good idea.

My PSU unit that came with the case doesn't have openings on the CPU side (the bottom). It only has the front which doesn't do a very good job of pulling the warm air out. I'm thinking of adding the second fan but don't know if there's any benefit to that.

The thin 80mm fan costs too much. How about a 60mm silent one? Or should I just cut a square or rectangle on the bottom (CPU side) and put in a mesh or grill to allow air to be drawn thru that from the PSU default fan and the front? Would that be a better idea?

A truly silent 60mm fan would be next to worthless, especially under less than ideal conditions, such as a power supply.

Your best bet is to replace the stock PSU fan with one that's more powerful. Cutting the bottom and just putting a grill would be a good idea also. I'm surprised there are no holes in it at all. Are you sure it's not upside down?

There's absolutely no holes on the sides, just for a few slits in the front next to the hole where the wires go thru to the drives/mobo/etc. Those are the only openings that allow air to be drawn out from inside. There's no bottom intake under the CPU so I've to use two exhaust fans which are noisy.

I know this because I also have a Sparkle FSP350-60BT, but it doesn't work well with my ECS K7S5A Pro (I often get a blank screen at boot-up while everything else powers up). The Sparkle has many slits on the bottom directly above the CPU.

I'm thinking of just cut a square or rectangle or hole and put in grill. It'll then look something like the Sparkle.
