Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 630m that appears to work except when it turns on it shows a very nice and bright post for about 1-2 seconds and then fizzles out (Actually makes a fizzle like sound, similar to speaker static), and goes VERY Dim almost blank/black. If I hook the vga port up to a monitor (While having the lcd unplugged) it works perfectly fine. But whenever I try to run the lappy with the lcd it simply shows the post for a second or so and just turns very dim/blank again and makes a fizzle like noise similar to speaker static.

EDIT: I meant to say that you can very 'faintly' see the computer screen after the initial screen that fizzles out and makes a speaker static like sound. I also have the speakers unhooked so I know its not that.

Would anyone happen to know what the problem could be? I changed out the invertor and unless the new one I got (It actually looks like the guy sold me a used one and not a new one like he said it was) is bad I don't know what else to check?

Anyways, if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be I would appreciate it. Thanks :)

PS: Is it ok to use an invertor from another model lappy on this dell?
