Mr. Ehrlich, a Republican, left office with $1.8 billion in the state savings account. Mr. O'Malley drew $1.2 billion from the state's coffers this year to cover a $1 billion shortfall in his first budget Since taking office, Mr. O'Malley has cut $85 million from the state's $15 billion general fund, which is expected to come up $1.5 billion short next year. The shortfall is the result of state spending growing faster than tax receipts.
Neither seems to understand the idea. If your not taking in enough money then your spending too much. Instead they just take in more money and don't fix any of the bad spending.
Worse, when reading the article it comes to light that these politicians are HIDING the numbers and not letting anyone in on it except a few elites. In other words, they are playing games with taxpayer money and not disclosing what they do. Then to top it off they want to jack taxes. Ramrod it through their legislature and just go on their merry way.
One side cranks taxes and the other just runs up deficits. Both are wrong but both persist by deflecting anger to the other side. 100:1 most of the idiots there will vote for a D or R and never consider a L or I
