whats the size diff in your arms?

My left arm bicep flexed is maybe .5 inch or more smaller then my dominant right bicep flexed

Just enough to be noiceable not by the naked eye by quick glance, but in feeling of sleeve room on my shirts

Cant remember exactly, my right arm is either 15" or 16", nothing impressive, im no hard core weightlifter

Could be a diff in skeletal construction or just that its my dominant arm . I would say there is little strength difference if any at all.


How bad is everyone else, and do you conciously try to compensate for this in your workouts?
 
I have always been dominant on my right arm. Since I have been lifting I have really seen my left arm improve. On bench I even feel a little shaky on the right now instead of the left... I wonder if it has to do with my left arm being more untrained at the start, so the muscles have responded with better gains. Sizewise they are about the same now, right was def bigger when I started lifting though.
 
Left is bigger, right handed. Short shirt sleeves stay up on one and not the other.

Guess which one I look at in the mirror after workouts?
 
Right is a little bigger. It annoys me that I can instantly fix it, so I am just trying to make a conscious effort to lift harder/more on my left side.

PS mine is due to a very minor scoliosis that did not require adjustment as a child but very mildly effects posture when lifting starting from shoulder.

Right handed, but my left arm is slightly bigger and stronger than right...I don't get it :S

maybe you compensate subconsciously? You know that your left arm is your less dominate arm, so when you lift something you pull a little harder on the left side.
 
I haven't measured recently, but most muscles on the left side of my body are slightly bigger - also right handed.

My theory is that I do mainly barbell exercises (and when I do dumbbells, I do the same amount of reps on each side) - and since my right side is naturally stronger, my left side has to work a bit harder to keep up - therefore, its a little bigger.
 
Both are about the same. No real discernible differences. I am definitely stronger on my right arm though, the right side of my back is noticeably thicker also, but thats from 12yrs of playing Tennis and serving with my right arm. So the right side of my back gets a beating every time I play. It's a lot less noticeable now then 12yrs ago! Not been playing much over the past 3-4yrs also.

Some of the time when your opposite arm is larger / stronger than your dominate one it's a sign of an injury you are compensating for. It could be as simple as a simple pop/click you are avoiding.
