What's the silliest/lamest/weirdest reason...

I was talking with my GF the other day and somehow it came up that I have broken up with people for really odd reasons....so I thought it'd be fun to share a little list:

Girl 1 always said "You're so funny". OK. I like to make people laugh, and for the most part, girls are drawn to my humor. I LOVE hearing my gf laugh. But every time I said something remotely funny this girl would simply say "you're so funny" while letting out this weird snicker. It was...weird.

Girl 2 had hot friends. After a couple of weeks I realized I only wanted to hang out with her because I liked her friends (who always flirted with me). When I realized this I tactfully tried to break it off.

Girl 3 smoked in my car (after claiming she didn't smoke when we met).
Her: "Can I smoke in here?"
Me: "I'd really prefer you didn't"
Her *lights up*
Me: kthxbye

Funny thing is I really have never afforded the ability to be picky, but somehow managed to pull crap like this all the time. So what lame/odd/funny reasons have fueled some of your breakups?

That's the point of the thread...breaking up for silly or lame "non-issue" type reasons. Think Seinfeld style breakups...

Sounds like you have commitment issues. You have to be looking for a reason to break up for most of those cases.

LOL. This was meant to be a fun thread. Not an analysis of my personal relationships. I have had multiple relationships that lasted 2yrs+ (none listed above) and I'm 27 - so for most of my dating life, I have been in committed relationships. I'm currently living with my GF and we've been together for a few years.

The ones listed above were more casual dating circumstances than anything. It's not like I went out with anyone in that list for more than a couple of times.

Went out a couple times with a girl; just miniature golf and other get to know you things... Called her to see if she wanted to go out on Friday, "well, there's a concert at my church... [some band I had actually heard of] is playing." I figured, how bad could it be if I had actually heard of the religious band. Yep, the concert part was pretty good - good band, but not who I was thinking of. (Christian music isn't necessarily my favorite though.) However, they had a church service prior to and after the band played... I don't think I ever prayed to God more in my life: "Please, God, get me the heck out of here!" There were people standing up, holding out their hands, feeling the spirit, and collapsing into their seats again. Needless to say, I realized that this wasn't a mainstream church, and was more like what we'd feel meets the stereotypical qualifications of a cult. edit: I actually avoided her and everyone else associated with that cult for a long time.

Ugh, I know how that sucks. I have yet to have a roommate who can either chew with his mouth closed, or else not smack his lips after every bite of something like soup or cereal. And, often times they'll make a lot of noise licking their fingers after eating something like buffalo wings.

Chick made a really wierd face once while laughing - bulging eyes, joker-like grin. Couldn't get it out of my head ...

umm well asside from the red flags early on:

First date "im sorry if im tired, I was sick and took some nyquill but then I didnt want to be boring for you so I took some caffeine pills....I feel sick"

second date my friend said "man your nuts you should be on zoloft or something"...silence...her sobbing "i am!!!"

third date was canceled because she...threw a snapple bottle at her mom while they were fighting, missed and broke a window, so she was grounded.

umm went on a few more because she was hot then broke it off about a month and a half into it for all of these reasons, and a few more I would rather not get into

Hehehe... at least the OP didn't break up with a girl because he knocked her toothbrush into the toilet bowl only to have her use it thereby causing the OP to have germaphobic reactions every time he has to kiss her.

Went on a date with a girl in college. It was our first date mind you. I told her to pick the movie (fully expecting some cheesy romance or a decent comedy). Boy, was I wrong. She ended up choosing a documentary about the War in Iraq and it had videos of soldiers and children missing appendages, dead soldiers/children/citizens, women and children crying and screaming and other horrific images. Really hard to make a move when everyone's freaked out and you are looking at a 1 armed child. It was a very awkward car ride home and all she could say was "It's so sad what's going on over there."

Yeah, there wasn't a 2nd date.

I dumped the most recent one because she kept coming over all the time. She just couldn't figurer out I needed time to myself.

She also kept saying how she'd visit me this summer when we got back from uni (we live in the same city)..

Uhh 'scuse me girl thats 7 months away.. I don't plan on keeping you that long.
