What's the shortest amount of time you've been employed at a job?

I worked at this used computer shop for one day. I went in to buy something for an old PC, and got to talking to the manager, who was trying to find it for me. He thought i seemed knowledgeable, and offered me a job. I took it. First day I showed up, the manager turned out to be this wannabe gangster-ghetto guy, and the owner was a freak. Someone came buy asking if he could put up a collection bin in the front of the store to collect donations for abused children or something. The owner started gonig off about "how do I know those kids were abused? How to I know they weren't wrongfully taken from thier parents? How do you know? etc..." Never did put upthe collection bin. Then he gave me a giant box of random cables, all tangled up, and told me to sort them and wrap them up neatly.

I never went back for the second day. Wasn't worth $8/hour.

I worked one day at C&J's Drive In (local burger joint). I was a delivery driver. My wife (now ex-wife) pestered me into calling the insurance company and making sure there was coverage on the vehicle when using it for a job. They gave me an emphatic, categorical "No!". So I called in the next day and told them I couldn't work there.

Four days, working at Sam's Club in the fast food area. Man that was hell on earth. I could not stand it anymore and I went on my lunch break and never came back.

I don't know but I think it would suck working for a temp agency. Having to go from job to job all the time doing all the crap that no one else wants to do.

for a college student it's great and was great. you work around school and they don't want a commitment (kind of like a girl)

A couple of months in a student job. I did the job until the project ended... :)

I've been at my current job for over 2 years now.

About 2 hours at Walgreen's

I got a job as the one hour photo person..

The day I started I felt kinda sick.
Plus, the manager was an ass.. kept telling me to smile more and say some dumb scripted upselling stuff.
Anyways, after a couple hours, I got a break...

Never came back from the break

ALso, I worked at Dairy Queen for like 2 days... only fast food job I ever had.
It was heard as hell, and very frustrating cause I couldn't make the ice cream cones right.

1 day at about 3 of the restaurants I've worked at. Lol, I fuvking hate the upselling stuff they make you do almost everywhere. Must be based on some studies or something. I intentionally avoid places where I receive sales pitches, or make it easy on them and make it crystal clear I'm not interested before they get started.

One month. I worked at an Office Depot at Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis. Busy place. I got 3 job offers from customers. I had to leave though, because I moved.

Yeah, I never do that B.S. at my work. Last year around holiday season they wanted my other co-workers and I to push the gift cards on every customer for every order. I didn't do it and no one said anything. It was stupid because there was a sign advertising it sitting right on top of my register that they could see easily.

1 more thing I'd like to add that is straight from the training manuals from a certain store that shall remain nameless.

"Extended service contracts have a profit margin of 50% for the store" and that is after 10% commission.... sure it is nothing new to the people here, but if you didn't know how BAD of a ripoff it was...
