I have a 512MB stick of Corsair PC3500 with Winbond BH5 chips. The tightest timings at 400MHz. Wanting to move to 1 Gig on a 3000+ Barton system, and plan to upgrade an Athlon 64 system in six months (memory stays).
I can't decide if I should buy a used stick to match my current memory, or sell it and buy something new. The new trend seems to be high bandwidth, relaxed latency. I'm locked in at 400MHz on a KT600 board until I move to A64, so the low latency PC3500 has served me well. So many memory choices out there right now! I want to spend under $275.00 on new memory. What to do?
Oh, it's all in the name of Doom 3 by the way...
MSI KT600 Mainboard
AMD 3000+ Barton
512MB Corsair PC3500
5900 Gainward Golden Sample 128MB 2.8ns
WD 36.7 Raptor
