what's the recording platform that home theater system cd-r and rw audio recorders use?

i bought an aiwa just few days ago hoping that it would play my mp3's on cd....and i ve used every configuration possible with nero........found a statement in the manual later that said:
the unit may not play a cd-r/rw disc that is recorded on personal computers or some kinds of cd-r/rw recorders because of differences in platforms.. still beats me what the hell is going on
have a Philips 4801 8X4X32

You bought an Aiwa....what.
What's the model number of the Aiwa product.

In all likelihood they just mean that ordinary CDRWs aren't "good enough" for the device to read. Mayhaps you need a higer quality disc.
