What's the proper term for "Father of the Bride" in weddings?

Typically in a wedding the person that gives the bride away is her father. What if it isn't? What do you call that person's role in the wedding?

Thanks for the help!

Depends on who it is. In my wedding, we called him, "Brother of the Bride."

This is one of those questions that you really never even consider to think about until somebody asks, then you realise it is a very good question and one that I have absolutely no idea of the correct answer to...

Makes sense, 'Friend of the Bride' would do, sounds kind of odd though. I guess there is there no real term for it?

Well. I know when i got married I wasn't allowed to be 'given' away. The priest asked us if we came on our own accord. It's just an escort down the aisle these days. But 'whatever-of-the-bride' works.

Yeah, at first I thought it'd be an easy question to answer... 10 minutes later after a few unsuccessful google searches I realize this WAS a tough question.

BTW.. Thanks BigSmooth, 'Bride's Escort' or 'Presenter of the Bride' sounds good.
