Whats the program/site that scans the software on your PC and finds which ones are outdated?

I know there used to be a free program/applet at www.download.com that scanned the software on your PC and found which ones were outdated, and then gave you the option of downloading/installing updated versions of the software...unfortunately I don't remember the name and cannot find it anymore 🙁

Does anyone know of any up-to-date software (free or not) that would do what i'm looking to do?
