What's the process for getting financial aid?

I'm a senior in high school and just recently they got FAFSA forms in and stuff for scholarships.

So other than the scholarships I will recieve through the school (based on GPA and act score), what places and things do I go to for college financial aid.

Note that next fall I will be attending a community college, which for at least one year, my MEAP $2500 money will be for. Should I be trying to get financial aid now for a university that I won't attend until at least 1 yr, prob 2, or wait until I am ready to go there?

Apply for FAFSA and declare your school of choice on it (or possible choices.) Then when you are ready to move onto your next school, you fill out the FAFSA renewel, it comes in the mail sometime in January. Make approiate changes.

make sure you send your application in early enough that you can get money before school starts

3. Apply for fin aid when you apply for college.

Yep, do those things and start praying for decent aid package
