What's the power line?

I'd like to know where does the cpu take its power from, as to say from which line (3,3V ; 12V ; 5V)of the psu.
I hope someone does know this.

On virtually all modern systems, the CPU is not powered directly from the main PSU. Instead a seperate power supply module is built into the motherboard.

With the exception of Pentium 4 systems, most PCs power these regulators with +5V. Because Pentium 4 CPUs need so much power the regulators are designed to use +12V.
