never available online until after the package reaches it's destination...

USPS's tracking is a joke. I ordered a Dreamcast VGA box and the DC# says it was delivered last Monday, but I haven't received it and the postal worker doesn't seem to remember.

Once again, Delivery Confirmation is not a tracking service. If you are having problems with a package not being delivered or being listed as delivered, you really need to contact the PO immediately and explain to them your situation.

Yeah, I buy a lot of stuff off Ebay and most send stuff with USPS. It is usless for tracking. It is only to confirm to the sender that it has been delivered.

It's not like they actually scan the DC numbers anyway. I've received a few packages in the last week, and all of them still show up on USPS's site as non-existant DC numbers. USPS is pretty lame these days.

They have a service besides Deliv. Confirm don't they? I'm pretty sure they do because if you go to their site there is a button called: Track/Confirm.

yes, it is sux. and yes i realize it's called "delivery confirmation", but on their website it says "track". even at the post office, the clerks always ask me "do u want tracking?". now a days, i only get it becuz it's free when u print out the labels online.

It's really sad compared to an actual tracking number. It's amazing to me that they actually charged .40 cents for it in the first place and blew me away when they raised it .05 cents. ;) Good thing that you can still get it for free when you print a label online.

I mainly use it to confirm that a package has been delivered. It also usually makes Ebay buyers warm and fuzzy knowing that it's tracked (even if it's lame).

I use them more as proof to the buyer that I shipped the item out than as proof that they got it. For that purpose, it's great.
